The Parramatta Community Engagement Committee plays a key role in positive relationship building between their local PCYC, communities, and Youth Command Police Officers and is comprised of Club members elected at the Club’s Annual Committee Meeting.
Members work closely with their local Club Manager; supporting the Club's mission to enhance youth and community outreach efforts. Committee members are responsible for developing strategies that address the needs of local youth, supporting recruitment efforts for new members and volunteers, and promoting the club throughout the community. Members also build partnership networks, advocate for youth and the broader community and support local fundraising initiatives to achieve PCYC’s mission and vision.
Committee members should conduct themselves to the highest standards, adhering to the PCYC Code of Conduct and ensuring their actions do not bring the PCYC, NSW Police, or any committee member into disrepute. Members are expected to act ethically, avoid intimidation, verbal abuse, or harassment, and not misuse their position for personal benefit. By maintaining these standards, committee members uphold the integrity and reputation of the PCYC, contributing to a positive and life changing environment for all.
The time commitment for PCYC Club Committee members is designed to be manageable while allowing members to make a meaningful impact. The committee meets once per quarter for approximately 90 minutes. Beyond these meetings, additional time dedicated to advancing committee initiatives is at each member’s discretion. On average, members contribute around 6 -10 hours per quarter, which may include supporting fundraising efforts, engaging with the local community, or assisting with specific projects. This flexible commitment ensures that members can contribute in a way that aligns with their availability and areas of interest while still playing a vital role in shaping the future of your PCYC.
